Message from the Headteacher 15.12.17
15th December 2017
It has been a very busy week at Dr Thomlinson Middle School.
Well done to the rowers who took part in the County Rowing Competition on Wednesday. Robert, Hazel, Dan and Ellie succeeded in maintaining the strong tradition the school has in indoor rowing competitions. Well done to all involved. Dan and Robert have progressed to the Regional Final.
An equal well done to the whole of Year 6 who took part in a workshop organised by Northumbria Police on Hate Crime. Michelle Redfern, who delivered the session, was really impressed at the way the Year group both understood the challenging subject matter and with the way they responded to the workshop.
The Christmas season is upon us and Dr Thomlinson is celebrating the festive season in a number of ways. Yesterday saw the Year 8 Christmas Cake Competition Coffee Afternoon in which Parents/Carers shared in the success of all of Year 8 in making some impressive Christmas Cakes. Well done to the following Christmas Cake Award Winners:
1st – Niamh
2nd – Poppy
3rd – Hazel
Highly Commended – Ben
1st - Finley
2nd - Rachel
3rd – Harry
Highly Commended – Connor
Today was Christmas Dinner Day and thanks to the many Parents/Carers and family members who attended. We served well over 350 dinners and we really appreciated the compliments regarding the meal. It was lovely to see so many people being able to celebrate the festive season with us.
