September 2017

1st September 2017

Dear Parents & Carers,

I hope everybody has had a lovely summer.  It was wonderful to see our pupils returning to school dressed in such a smart fashion.  We were all delighted to welcome our new Year 5 students to school; they have all had a great start to the year.

I mention school uniform earlier in this message and we realise that purchasing it is a significant investment.  Therefore it would really help all of us if each item of school uniform was labelled with the name of the child it belongs to.  We do endeavour to return all items of uniform to the rightful owner but this is only possible if the item contains the name of the child to which it belongs.  Thank you for assisting us in this way.

Equally if anybody has any PE kit which their child has outgrown then these items can always be donated to our PE Department.

Swimming starts next week in PE.  Traditionally we have offered swimming to all year groups however this year we are extending the sports offered in PE at Key Stage 3 (Years 7 & 8) therefore this half term there will be swimming for Key Stage Two Girls.  Swimming will start on Tuesday, September 12th.

Fitness Week

We are taking part in the national fitness week ran by the Bodycoach Joe Wicks every day next week so please ensure your child comes ready with trainers and a water bottle every day.

Make £5 Grow July 2016 competition – Due to the office finalising outstanding money at the end of last term we unfortunately couldn’t share with you the results of the entrepreneurial challenge which some of our Year 6s took part in during summer term. It was met with innovation and enthusiasm by all and over £300 was made in profit! The winning team was Seth, James and Charlie who have chosen to donate half their profit to charity!

The term began with the election of Form Representatives.  Well done to the following newly elected reps.
